The first rezoning vote for the Scott Boulevard Baptist Church property could happen at a District 2 Community Council meeting on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Toco Hills Library, 1282 McConnell Drive, in Decatur. Fuqua Development wants to demolish the church to make way for a new mixed-use development called Decatur Crossing, which includes a five-story, 260-unit apartment building and 40,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The property is located across the street from Suburban Plaza, which is being redeveloped by Selig Enterprises to house a Walmart Supercenter.
