(CBS ATLANTA) As part of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s Recycling Ambassador Program, the city will host a recycling workshop on Saturday, Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Old Council Chambers, 2nd FL at 68 Mitchell St. SW. Anyone who’s interested in learning more about recycling and other sustainable practices is welcome to attend.
The workshop, sponsored by the city of Atlanta, the mayor’s office, Department of Public Works and the Office of Sustainability aims to educate residents on the city’s recycling program, CARTLANTA. People who volunteer to become Recycling Ambassadors will help spread the word about the benefits of recycling in their own neighborhoods.
The City of Atlanta is also partnering with INtown affiliate CBS Atlanta on the upcoming Great Shredder Event on Sept. 7 at Turner Field, which allows the public to shred and recycle sensitive documents, free of charge.
