The suspect wanted in the shooting death of a woman this morning in Midtown was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a Clayton County home this afternoon.

According to a report from the Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta officers and Clayton County Police executed a search and arrest warrant for the individual wanted in connection with homicide outside the Norfolk Southern offices at t 1230 Peachtree St. The individual was located inside his residence deceased from a gunshot wound. The scene appears consistent with a suicide, however, the Clayton County Medical Examiner will make the final determination as to cause of death.

According to witnesses, the female was going to her work site around 6:30 a.m. when she was approached by a male, who also works in the building. Witnesses stated that the victim and the male spoke for a moment before he produced a pistol and shot her several times. The male then fled the scene. The victim was transported to Grady, where she died from her injuries
