Atlanta Public Schools, City of Decatur Schools, Fulton County Schools and DeKalb County Schools have announced the cancellation of classes for students on Tuesday, Jan. 7, because of the forecasted single-digit temperature and subzero windchill. We also received word that Drew Charter School will be closed tomorrow, as well.
City of Decatur was the last school district in our coverage area to make the call. They posted this note on their Facebook page:
“Based on predicted frigid temperatures, and for the safety of our students and employees, City Schools of Decatur will be closed Tuesday, January 7. All scheduled events, including extra-curricular activities and events will be rescheduled. Our 12-month employees should report at 10:00 a.m.”
