Atlanta police are searching for the ex-girlfriend of the mother of a 4-year-old boy who has been missing since Friday.
The boy, Kentavious Williams, was dropped off at Easter Seals daycare on Woodland Avenue on Friday, Feb. 28, at about 11 a.m. by his mother, Kenyatta Williams, according to an Atlanta Police Department report.
Williams said she gave permission for her ex-girlfriend, Kenyetta Allen, to pick up the boy on Friday afternoon and keep him over the weekend with plans for the Williams to pick up her son on Sunday.
However, Allen refused to bring the boy back to his mother and did not answer text messages over the weekend to determine a time when she would bring back the boy to his mother, according to the report. On Wednesday, Williams filed a report with the police because she said she has had no luck reaching her ex-girlfriend and her son has not been to daycare this week.
The ex-girlfriend has kept the boy in the past and there is no history of abuse, according to APD.
“Ms. Williams stated that even today she has continued to get in contact with Ms. Allen and she has not responded back, but that Ms. Williams’ mother, Akeiba Williams, has been in contact with her today and said that Ms. Allen said she would call her mother to meet up with the child on Moreland Ave somewhere,” according to the police report.
“Ms. Allen never responded back to Akeiba Williams with picking the child up on Moreland Ave. Ms. Williams stated that Ms. Allen stays over at the Marquise Gardens in DeKalb County behind the Kensington train station in building O,” the police report states.
“Ms. Williams stated that she didn’t know the apartment number at the time. Ms. Williams stated that she believes that Ms. Allen will not harm her child and that there has been no history of abuse towards the child. Ms. Williams stated that Ms. Allen has in the past taken care of her child,” states the APD report.
Kentavious was wearing a white button-down shirt with a black tie and black pants when last seen by Williams. Anyone who has information about the location of Kentavious Williams is asked to call 911 or the Atlanta Youth Squad at 404-546-4260.
UPDATE: The child was returned to his mother Thursday morning in good health.
