atlanta-traffic1-150x150Expect some serious delays on the Downtown Connector this weekend as the Georgia Department of Transportation works on repairs and re-striping. The work will be done weather permitting, and motorists are advised to leave extra time for the journeys, find alternative routes and use 511ga.org for up-to-date information.

Here is the rundown of this weekend’s road work:

On I-75/I-85, up to four northbound lanes will close from Abernathy Boulevard/ Capitol Avenue and four southbound lanes will close from Abernathy Boulevard/ Capitol Avenue to 10th, 14th, 17th Streets from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for striping;

Traffic will shift on the I-75/I-85 southbound ramp to I-20 eastbound from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday. The interchange will remain open during work;

One eastbound and one westbound lane and shoulder will close on SR 316 from Herrington Road to SR 120 continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for resurfacing;

On I-285 northbound, one lane and part of the entrance and exit ramps from SR 260/Glenwood Road to Chamblee Tucker Road will close nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for striping;

Additionally on I-285, two northbound lanes will close from SR 279/ Old National Highway to SR 6/ Camp Creek Parkway and one northbound lane will close from SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the I-20 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday

Rolling lane closures will take place on I-285 southbound from SR 279/ Old National Highway to the I-20 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

One northbound and one southbound lane will close on I-285 at South Atlanta Road from 7 a.m., until 7 p.m., Saturday:

· Two lanes will close on GA (State Route) 400 southbound from Lenox Road to Sidney Marcus Boulevard from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday;

· Three eastbound lanes will close on I-20 from Langhorn Street to McDaniel Street from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· On I-20, two westbound lanes from Alcovy Road to SR 12/US 278 and the ramp from Alcovy Road to I-20 will close continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· One northbound and one southbound lane will close on I-85 from SR 139/ Riverdale Road to Cleveland Avenue nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for striping;

· Bridge work on Spaghetti Junction will require one lane closure on the I-85 southbound ramp to I-285 eastbound from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· One lane will also close on the I-85 northbound ramp to I-285 eastbound from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday

· One lane will close on the I-285 eastbound ramp to I-85 northbound from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday;

· On U.S. 78, one eastbound lane will close from the I-285 interchange to Memorial Drive and two westbound lanes will close from Memorial Drive to Brockett Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday;

· Two lanes will close on I-75 northbound from Mount Paran Road to Cumberland Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday;

· The Express Lanes project will require one northbound and one southbound lane to close on I-575 from Barrett Parkway to Bells Ferry Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 10 a.m., Saturday;

· Lastly, the Express Lanes project will require traffic to shift on the I-285 westbound collector-distributer lanes and one lane will close on I-285 eastbound at the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 10 a.m., Saturday for a pacing operation;

· On I-75 northbound, a traffic shift will occur from SR 20/ SR 81 to Jonesboro Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 9 a.m., Saturday for work on the South Metro Express Lanes;

· Two lanes will close on SR 155/ Candler Road from Valley Ridge Road to McAfee Road from 8 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday;

· On SR 154/ Memorial Drive, one lane will close between Moreland Avenue and Wilkinson Drive and one lane will close on SR 154/ Memorial Drive between East Lake Drive and Candler Road both closures are from 9 a.m., until 3 p.m., Saturday.
