A rendering of enhancements to the Peachtree Street bridge over the Downtown Connector in Midtown.

Construction is currently underway on the Peachtree Street bridge between Pine Street and Ralph McGill Boulevard and work is expected to begin this week on the Midtown bridge near the Amtrak station as part of a big enhancement project.

Midtown Alliance, Central Atlanta Progress and the Georgia DOT is directing an enhancement of the two Peachtree Street bridges over the I-75/85 Downtown Connector. Improvements will include new gateway features, bridge fencing, lighting, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities.

Both bridge projects are on a 12-to-14 month construction schedule. Expect temporary sidewalk and lane closures intermittently, generally during non-peak travel times, throughout the project.
