1. Harris-Trump debate illustrates starkly different visions for America
?️ Donald Trump and Kamala Harris faced each other on the debate stage for 90 minutes Tuesday night, offering contrasting visions for the country.
Harris, the Democratic vice president who is a former courtroom prosecutor, was eager to expose Trump’s liabilities and baited the former president into defending the crowd size at his rallies and repeating Internet conspiracies about immigrants eating pets.
Trump, a Republican running in his third presidential election, was set on painting Harris and President Joe Biden as weak on the international stage and her for changing her views on issues such as fracking. He also attacked Harris for not having an economic plan.

2. Meet the late-night regulars of R. Thomas’ Deluxe Grill
☕ Welcome to The Regulars, where we explore what it means to be a frequent restaurant patron. In this series, we’ll introduce you to everyday Atlantans and local characters who have found a sense of belonging and community at restaurants and bars around town, and what keeps these regulars coming back week after week.
When R. Thomas’ Deluxe Grill opened in 1985 on Peachtree Street, it was more than two decades ahead of the healthy, fast-casual dining trend now proliferating the restaurant landscape in Atlanta and beyond.
In a city where most coffee shops close by late afternoon and restaurant kitchens stop serving food by 10 p.m. (or earlier), R. Thomas’ has become a much-needed third space for late-night diners like Albert Loman.
Loman counts himself among the restaurant’s many regulars. The actor, now in his 30s, grew up in Marietta and began dining at R. Thomas’ when he was a teenager.

3. Theatre Review: ‘The Music Man’ shines with stellar choreography, great performances
? When “The Music Man” first begins at the Byers Theatre in Sandy Springs, you know you’re in for a treat.
“Rock Island” is the famous opening number from “The Music Man,” performed by a group of traveling salesmen aboard a train. It’s performed without music (barring maybe percussion in some productions), and it’s completely talked through in rhythm as the salesmen discuss whether the modern conveniences of 1912 are rendering their profession obsolete.
It’s an unconventional opening number for an otherwise rather conventional show – quick, quiet, and specific instead of big and brassy. If these traveling salesmen aren’t able to get the audience on their side during “Rock Island,” that spells trouble for the rest of the performance. Luckily, the cast of City Springs Theatre Company pulls it off without a hitch.
