Horizon Theatre’s beloved production of “Madeline’s Christmas” returns for its 14th season from Dec. 7 to Dec. 31.
The annual musical adaptation of Ludwig Bemelmans’ cherished children’s book features professional actors performing alongside youth ages 8-13.
Produced with Atlanta Children’s Theatre, this year’s cast includes students from four Metro Atlanta counties (Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett) and more than 25 schools in total.
The story follows central protagonist Madeline and her friends as they embark on a holiday adventure like no other.
When a trip to the zoo leaves everyone but Madeline bedridden with the flu, she takes charge and comes to save the day.
With the help from a mysterious stranger, the “twelve little girls in two straight lines” band together to experience a magical and unforgettable holiday that will surely be a “holiday treat for the whole family,” according to a news release.
“It’s such a treat to once again bring back “Madeline’s Christmas” — a heartwarming show that has brought joy to countless families for many years now,” said Horizon Theatre’s Co-Artistic/Producing Director Lisa Adler.
The musical will run on weekends at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., with additional shows at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on select dates. Weekday performances are scheduled for Dec. 19 and 20 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., as well as Dec. 23, 26-27, and 30-31 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Additionally, school day matinees will also be held on Dec. 11 and 12 at 10:30 a.m.
Tickets cost $15 for youth (21-and-under) and $20 for adults, while school and homeschool groups can purchase matinee tickets for $10 each.
