Revry, the world’s first LGBTQ+ streaming network, today announced the acquisition and upcoming release of the original film “Boss Up, The Musical,” a feature that marks the filmmaking debut from Atlanta-based viral creator Tony Talks (Antonio Baldwin).

Based on Talks’ popular character Cassandra – the uber-glam, larger-than-life female executive who identifies as “fabulous and flawless”– “Boss Up, The Musical” follows Cassandra’s journey as she gets fired from her big-time job, loses face, and must find her self-esteem from within.

Out on Film will host the premiere at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. followed by its streaming debut on Revry on Feb. 1.

“Being a creator who does so many characters, I often have to think of who I am outside of all this,” Tony Talks said in a press release. “That’s what inspired me to write the film, I relate to Cassandra. It’s called ‘Boss Up’ because once her job is stripped from her, she has to discover who she is without the title. It’s been a labor of love and I’m really excited for people to have a chance to see it on Revry.”

Tony Talks, who has more than 4.5 million followers across social media platforms, conceived the original songs and dance numbers and cast supporting characters, including musical artist Ocean Kelly. Tee Johnson and Sydney Stewart directed the film.

“We were already such huge fans of Tony’s bold creativity that once we saw the film, everything came together quite naturally,” Damian Pelliccione, co-founder and CEO, Revry, said in the release. “Cassandra’s a fantastic character, it’s a compelling story, the whole movie is joyous, heartwarming, and colorful. It reflects Revry’s spirit of self-discovery, self-celebration, and self-love.”
