It appears the Brickworks complex on Marietta Street on Atlanta’s west side saw the closure of chain restaurants Culinary Dropout and Postino Wine Bar earlier this month. The Buckhead location of Postino Wine Bar remains open, as does the Ashford Lane location of sports bar and entertainment venue Culinary Dropout.
Nearby at the corner of 10th and Howell Mill, a location of Snooze A.M. Eatery will close on Jan. 31 after three years.
Just down the block from Snooze, chefs Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips will close Humble Pie after dinner service tonight. The wood-fired pizza restaurant from the Lazy Betty chefs opened two years ago at The Interlock. “It’s been hard getting the business coming thru the doors. We love this area and hope what comes after really serves you all well,” a statement posted to the Humble Pie Instagram account reads.
The owners of Tin Roof Cantina on Briarcliff announced the property has been sold, and the restaurant will eventually close after 20 years there. The restaurant remains open for now. Check Instagram for hours and further updates.
Poco Loco owner and chef Nick Melvin will open a new Tex-Mex restaurant and market called Communidad ATL in the former Highland Bakery space on the edge of Inman Park this spring. Stay tuned for a story on Melvin’s new restaurant.
A new eight-seat cocktail omakase pop-up called 7th House from the folks behind Bovino After Dark debuts tonight next door to private wine club The Vine Club in Adair Park. Beth McKibben will be checking it out on Saturday evening and report back!
And restaurant industry nonprofit Giving Kitchen announced this week its expansion to support hospitality workers in all 50 states and DC.

The Colonnade will open seven days a week, starting Feb. 1, adding Mondays and Tuesdays. Hours are 5-9 p.m. on weekdays, 12-9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 12-8 p.m. on Sundays. Owners Paul Donahue and Lewis Jeffries will maintain the same menu for lunch and dinner. Keep up with more Colonnade news here.
Sugar Shane’s has some new additions to celebrate – chocolate-dipped cheesecake slices and the Dubai Chocolate Bar, a combination of dark chocolate, Kataifi dough, and pistachio. And here’s another treat: Krispy Kreme is expanding its menu in select US markets – and Atlanta made the cut. The lineup includes returning popular doughnuts that were offered previously for a limited time only, including flavors fans have asked for on social media and trending new flavors. Pop in to try New York Cheesecake, OREO Cookies and Kreme, Cinnamon Swirl, Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme, and Original Glazed Cake doughnuts, available at all Atlanta locations. But that is not all – if you already have Valentine’s Day on the brain (or the heart) Krispy Kreme also has a special Hearts in Bloom doughnut collection to check out. Follow here for more.
Decatur’s Wahoo! Grill has launched a “Toast to Thursday” happy hour, offering bar and dining room specials from 4-7 p.m. weekly. The menu features cocktails starting at $5 and bar bites including pimento cheese fritters, calamari, and charcuterie boards. The restaurant also offers Taco Tuesday and Wine Wednesday specials.
