Sandy Springs police say Dr. Kelly Thrasher was arrested in Miami, Fla.,by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The Marshals received information leading them to a Days Inn Hotel in the South Beach area of Miami. Thrasher was located and taken into custody in the hotel room without incident. Thrasher had approximately $30,000 cash in his possession. Thrasher is being held at the Metro West Detention Center in Miami awaiting extradition. Thrasher, indicted in 2012 on child molestation charges, had did not show up for an appointment with Sandy Springs police on May 19, police said.

The $17 million half-diamond interchange and bridge at Hammond Drive and Ga. 400 is progressing apace. Concrete is being poured for the on and off ramps, and welders like Noe Meza are preparing the massive I-beam supports. The fast-track multi-jurisdictional project is a partnership involving the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
