The Sandy Springs Connects! career expo will link qualified jobseekers with Sandy Springs businesses on Sept. 12.

The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center will host the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives of dozens of businesses are expected to meet with more than 250 people seeking careers with competitive salaries, benefits, and career advancement opportunities.

The expo is sponsored by the City of Sandy Springs, the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber, and the Community Assistance Center (CAC) Career Center, according to a news release.

“Our face-to-face event allows jobseekers to make a personal connection before the online application process, giving them an edge through candidate selection process,” Xianqin ‘Lisa’ Wallace, director of the CAC Career Center, said.

Eight on-the-spot job offers, seven more offers made within a week, and numerous interviews resulted from the last career expo, according to the press release.

“With its diverse business landscape—ranging from independent and mid-sized companies to large corporations and Fortune 500 firms—Sandy Springs offers a wealth of opportunities. Coupled with the skills and experience of our local candidates, this makes the career expo exceptionally successful,” Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul said.

Companies such as State Farm, UPS, Cox Enterprises, Northside Hospital, and Symphona will exhibit at the career expo.

The City of Sandy Springs makes it possible for the Sandy Springs Connects! Career Expo to be free for jobseekers and employers, the release said.

Jobseekers interested in the career expo on Sept. 12 can register for updates and view the growing list of confirmed employers at www.sandyspringsconnects.com. Walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event. Companies that are interested in participating can apply through the same link.
