Visitors will walk into the cyclorama building from underneath the painting before going up escalators to a viewing platform. The pieces missing from the bottom of the painting won’t be replaced, but will be covered by the diorama that will be installed at the base of the painting.
This Confederate monument is located on Peachtree Battle Avenue. An advisory committee will make recommendations in the coming months for what should be done with monuments and street names in Atlanta linked to the Confederacy. (Evelyn Andrews)
